Consultant Rheumatologist
Dr Muddassir Shaikh is a consultant Rheumatologist working at the James Cook
University Hospital, Middlesbrough. He completed his Rheumatology specialist
training in the North East England in 2015 and has been working as a Consultant
Rheumatologist in the NHS since then.

- Inflammatory Arthritis (e.g. Rheumatoid arthritis, Psoriatic arthritis)
- Ankylosing spondylitis
- Osteoarthritis
- Gout
- Connective tissue diseases (e.g. Lupus, Systemic sclerosis, Sjogren’s syndrome, Myositis)
- Vasculitis
- Osteoporosis
- Fibromyalgia
- Joint and soft tissue injections
Dr Shaikh is actively involved in teaching junior doctors and medical students. He is
the research lead for the Rheumatology department at the James Cook University
Hospital, Middlesbrough. He is an editorial board member of the (Oxford)
Rheumatology journal. He has chaired and presented at several national
conferences.
